Love Me Not
Is a visual poem on queer love and memory. Each petal revealing the delicate boundary between intimacy, loss, and the journey back to oneself.
This project was also a unique technical experiment: where we shot the entire film twice.
The first slide on the ARRI Alexa 35 paired with our @rawelementslensco custom 45-90mm 2x Anamorphic Tangie AO lens, and the 2nd slide on the Blackmagic 65mm Open Gate using rare Lomo 70 Series lenses.
Both approaches deliver widescreen cinema from two very different traditions:
2x Anamorphic on Super 35 the classic CinemaScope aesthetic: wide, dramatic, full of flares, distortion, and expressive depth.
65mm projection films the large negative format used for massive curved screens, representing the pinnacle of image size and detail.
By shooting Love Me Not in both formats, we're exploring the dialogue between two cinematic languages. The sweeping clarity of 65mm and the emotional character of anamorphic.
